    Indeed, it's looking good.

"AMD showed Summit Ridge narrowly outperforming the i7-6900K. It's also looking good for high-end Summit Ridge in terms of power consumption, as Summit Ridge consumed around 3-5 watts less total system power than the Core i7-6900K. Summit Ridge was also shown consuming less total system power at idle, sitting at around 93 watts compared to 107 watts for the Intel system."

AMD will need to have a 40% increase in cpu processing power just to keep up. What's AMD going to do to come out ahead of Intel?

Will all Ryzen cpu and apus have soldered ihs's?

despite an article saying kaby lake k series parts will be soldered, it appears they are not,,,,

    hxxp://wccftech.com/intel-kaby-lake-core-i5-7600k-review/
Another thing to note is that Kaby Lake K-Series would be featuring a heatsink that will be soldered using TIM and not cheap materials. This will allow better heat conductivity between the CPU die and the thermal surface." - Intel Core i5-7600K Review Published Before NDA – 9% Faster Than Core i5-6600K But No IPC Gains Over Skylake - Posted Nov 3, 2016

Intel Core i7-7700K Delidded, Reapplied TIM Reduces Temps By 30C – Could Intel Have Messed Up TIM Once Again?

I was considering a kaby lake K cpu because i thought they were going to be soldered. if they are just paste, and crappy paste too, whats the point? may aswell by skylake.

What is the price? AMD is usually cheaper than Intel. This is a good news though.

    Be compassionate wiuth infineon...

The european high court yesterday confirmed the judgement that they arranged prices with competitors to rip off customers. They now have to pay the fine of $ 148.000.000...

Rumours are they rigged the demo render tests at least, people with 6900k CPUs re-ran the tests and got different numbers, they tried a similar trick with the 480s vs GTX1080

There was a lot of AMD hype when they came out with the Bulldozer/FX chips..... They dropped the ball. I hope this will not be a re-pete cuz it'll be even worse for AMD if it fails

It's only interesting because it's cheaper then all other cpu's in the same categories. People which using Intel CPU's will not switch because no one knows what comes next and to switch to another platform would require trust and an entire new hardware setup - personally I would not see arguments to switch since Intel will counter strike with Kaby lake. Of course another factor is that Intel CPU's are easy to OC and they are known as more stable. So theoretically you could go with your old hardware and try to OC to reach similar output.

well I respect your opinion but myself change entire hardware for the first time (Intel to AMD) and til now I'm very satisfect with my new cpu and all hardware (mobo MSI A88XM-E45 & 8GB RAM HyperX) I don't need OC none time my CPU really rocks still as ever this one eternal war about Intel VS AMD ;)

I've always like AMD too, but currently AMD's best is about equal with using an Intel i3, which doesn't cut it for cpu power. Intel does know this and they are taking advantage by demanding higher prices. I truly do hope that AMD's next gen ZEN chips are what they say they are because we really could use a cpu price war
I recently upgraded my current Intel chip but I would seriously consider going back to AMD in the future if they can pull their weight against Intel

ok Joe C thanks a lot for the heads up very good to know while I'm noob with AMD ;) but with my hardware actual working with Photoshop CS6, Blender and Maya I don't see more problems til now still I need more RAM only here is very expense HyperX :weep:

I don't know the reason but ram prices are high right now.
Last summer I got 2x8 gb DDR4 memory for $60. and today that same brand and size is going for over $90.

There is one thing I am often critical about AMD GPU going bonkers at times and dies. I don't know if that applies to the CPU as well. It is a prevalent case on the durability of AMD products in the market. That alone has rendered many motherboards with integrated AMD GPU useless.
