I've started browsing with IE8 today and discovered that I wasn't able to open links in a new tab or window. Selecting open in new tab from the right-click context menu when clicking on a link caused a new tab to open with the title 'Connecting...', in the right tab color (tab grouping feature), but there was no address in the URL bar and the page never loaded while the open Link in New Window wasn't doing anything at all.

Does anyone else have this issue or have a quick fix for that?

    Thanks in advance.

i had the same problem in my second installation of build 7000... i couldnt find a fix for it. and since i had a few other bugs as well, i did a third reinstallation and this time, no such problems... maybe someone else must've figured a way to fix it without reinstallation.

there are a lot of IE bugs in Windows 7 due to IE 8 sucking and it not being feature complete. Save yourself the headache and just use Firefox. I wish that IE would not even be a part of Windows.

The next build might be a bit better, because the IE 8 RC is not even able to install on Windows 7 at this point.

spoekn from the heart LOL.... no seriously though when it comes to Web 2.0 apps and java script IE8 sucks. Read the articles, nobody likes it... maybe not even Bill Gates. Google Chrome and Firefox 3.0.x are the best browsers out there right now. Firefox 3.5 is nice but it is far from finished and some of my addons don't work right with it.

I haven't used IE since version 6. Somebody mentioned Firefox and I've used it since. You like Google Chrome?

Ran IE8 for a few weeks to give it a fair shot. Yes - many bugs. Read today that the soon to be released IE8 RC1 will not be available to the Win7 crowd.

Just installed FireFox and won't look back.:D
