preferably without losing data? also, how to discern what type of build im on>?

I know the build number but im a bit of a dumbass, so i dont know which branch(ring? chalk? lmao) im on.

alternatively, if it is not possibe o go from insider or whatever to stable without losing data, how do I upgrade to whatever the newest build is, within the branch/ring that im on?? sorry for the silly questions yall. i mean well. 2023-06-21 01_13_38-About Windows.png y for the dumb questions!!

Look in Windows Insider Program within Windows Update to see what Branch you are on.
To go from Insider Build to Released Build requires a Clean Install.

I was able to update as Mr. Mercer said. the only issue ive had is that infuriating issue wherein the machine boots up, and before the desktop icons render(or the wifi icon in the taskbar, etc) explorer crashes, over and over and over, off and on, off and on. dont really know how to troubleshoot since the screen wont "stay still" enough to even type anything.
