Apologies if this has been covered somewhere else -- I didn't find any clear info after searching. I've heard from a friend that Windows 11 is blocking the use of many keygens and cracks and disabling Defender isn't enough to make them work. Is there a workaround for this?
@bigwophh The simple answer is that nothing like this has been discovered and even anything similar have not heard so far, and the other thing is that if Windows Defender doesn't exist or is blocked (or just doesn't work), by what force or by what method are these crakcs and keygens are searched and blocked? So how is that explained?
defender do trouble with some keygen & cracks, also my comodo internet security pro if you disabled them, everything work fine. tested. I did better, exclude all files cause trouble, so my Security software don't bother me any more
not funny, that Windows Defender even in Windows 10 informs me since this year of a possible attack, when there is only one line or more in file C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts like.. ## remark by Spybot or 0.0.0.0 hostname of a microsoft server.... Defender ignore folders and ignore file exceptions, Defender Icon in Tray remains red.
Do not use it? It marks my scripts as malicious and it ignores exceptions and as the result I ended up with unbootable windows, so I just switched AV.
It is crap. But it works, and it's not a binary. Defender always fake-flagged cracks, keygens, kms, wat, windows loader & etc. as malicious (even when not actually malicious). But the real travesty is "smartscreen" which flags all unsigned files indiscriminately - I don't remember seeing a whitelisted one, ever. End result is that more people disregard potentially dangerous stuff.
But can anyone explain how Windows Defender selects people, that is, to whom block almost anything and the other to whom it doesn't cause no problems at all. And that other problem is how does Windows Defender block when it's itself turned off, blocked, or removed from the system at all, as mentioned in the first post? How can Windows Defender be so powerful that it blocks even if it's not installed at all? How does this work?
Smartscreen even blocks MS own software for download on Edge. Ex.: Net desktop runtime installer (windowsdesktop-runtime-5.0.14-win-x64.exe) marked as pontiencially dangerous.
Because it is either still ON or OP is mistaking it for smartscreen or browser's protection like googlesafebrowsing or DNS, there are many possibilities, but when it is really off, it is off..
My Windows 11 is doing the same thing but only after Feb Cumulative Update but it doesn't actually block the crack or keygen if i respond to the notice in bottom right of the screen, once i acknowledge the fact that windows defender has found something then it continues to run, only if i don't acknowledge the activity then it won't run.
This did it for me https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ws-defender-in-windows-11.84950/#post-1722423
I had never had problems using any kinds cracks or KEYGEN on Windows 11.. I make sure the Disable everything including Tampering need to be disable.. ALSO, I learn another issues is HOST files, I make extra copies whatever reason.. Then I place Read-Only HOST files so it won't delete or changes for a reason.. Has to workaround harder to prevent odd behavior.. I Highly suggest use Virtual Machine do testing.. ATGPUD2003
These are just warnings for software that can cause system wide changes thats why they marked as potential.
You must select keep o delete the file. Why to block the download? Isn't account control warning when executing enough?
