WGA and Activation are two terms I have heard to describe MS anti-piracy techniques. What are the different versions, public and non-public? Which ones require which type of activation? Assistance is greatly appreciated
Both require activation for full functioning. There is no online validation (yet) for Office 2013. WAT aka Windows Activation Technology comes built-in with Windows 8.
Thanks for all the great response. Coupled in part with my own assumptions, so far, we have the following: WGA and and OGA which used to block updates are a thing of the past. Windows 'activation' exists but does not block updates or deactivate Windows. The update called 'windows malicious software removal tool' cannot be uninstalled and creates the transparent activation message always in the bottom right of the screen. What is the message that comes up with Office 2013 that say it is not activated? How are volume licenses different from others? Do keys get blacklisted? What about keygens? Do any legitimate ones exist?
Now we are getting to the whole point why not ask that question in the first place. Information needed what version of windows and office i,e enterprise, pro, retail ?
I do need that information also. It plays into what to download in the first place. Both are all-in-one downloads.
Urie actually meant what version you have already installed or consider to download, as this can´t be answered in general that easy.
You´re seaching for or have it already and only looking to activate those? Any Languages in specific...?
Yeah I forget sometimes I just naturally choose volume, keep all my ducks in a row lmao Right, Office needs Volume. and before the next question. There is no difference between Volume and Retail, feature wise.
So the difference between volume and retail for Office 2013 refers to what? What about for Windows 8?
As said no difference in features for Office VL vs. Retail. On Windows WMC can only be added to Retail, if that matters .
