I had Any DVD to make back ups of all my video disks, and I had a life time license. Now it looks like that Slysoft, the original maker of Any DVD is gone out of business, I have to go looking for another very good program to make my video dvd back up with. Anybody got any ideas of a good software that allows me to make a personal back up of my dvd video disks?
RedFox maybe crooks, They state that the owner has ran off and everybody is required to purchase new license under their new name now (today that's about $125.). What's to stop the original owner of Any DVD from showing up at some point and filing for copyright infringement for stealing his software/software name, and making everybody purchase new licenses again? How well does DVD Fab work?
DVDFab is your best option, it does just about everything. With a bit of research you can find freebie software for each individual task, some do a better job but DVDFab is the best all in one package
I think that's a little harsh. The owner has not run off but given up after 10 years of legal fight, leaving them unpaid. Now the dev team could have walked away and SlySoft licences would be useless without online server, instead they banded together and resumed on there own - taking all the direct legal action I am sure they will receive from AACS. They are real people though and they have mouths to feed, roof to keep over there heads. tbh I've got some respect for them. I've never used AnyDVD, nor even ever ripped a blueray movie or even burned a blueray - but I like to read about these things. I am sure things are far from smooth on there side and the technical and legal issues they will no doubt be enduring will need funds to fight.
Wonder if the original owner did walk out, or just a way to get out of the legal trouble they are in? "Drops the keys on the desk, walks out, around the building and in the back door" Been using their programs for many years, still remember when they first released CloneCD way way back, huge upheaval, remember their 1-2-3 Sheep burner recommendations. Now there are Sheep everywhere, but that's more of an iDiot phone thing
Thanks for the links! I can't stand the idea that the MPAA gets away with infringing upon my rights to make a back up of my media. $$$consumerism$$$ has over taken the U.S. mind set from the poor with big screen tv's and cable to our govt officials that were supposed to be watching out for it's citizens from being taken advantaged by big corp america Now we are going to make big corp america our president!!
I think the MPAA masters over our govt so our govt will put pressure on China to shut down that monkey, at least that's the impression I'm getting from reading the links that have posted
AFAIK he got found guilty of criminal charges, so I guess this was ultimately it's downfall - prevented him from legally carrying on in the country they were operating in. LOL! That was more of an Elby development (along with CloneCD). They handed this over the AnyDVD team when they were prevented from selling it themselves (they were registered in Germany so subject to Germal and European laws) I remember those days of SafeDisc 2, when Plextor the king of writers was knocked off top spot by LiteOn. Eventually one of Plextors final writers (PlexWriter Premium) was made that could do all of those + Sony SecuROM by (ab)using is variable speed recording feature to alter read times on the disc. Glad all those protections died a death tbh because all the added stuff (DLL's) and eventually the products were installing system level drivers, that would then become incompatible with later versions of Windows. That's no way to talk about MDL members....
I have always looked at the various companies behind CloneCD, CloneDVD, AnyDVD etc as one entity, they are just spread around to avoid getting sued. Yes I do recall the old Plextor cult drives, especially the 8X ones, but never actually had one, no need, not a gamer.
So what was the last Slysoft anyDVD HD version and where can I download it from? Also for clone DVD? Since I have legal lifetime licenses from Slysoft.
Thanks to all. Is this anydvd or anydvd HD? Also from the above posts, is clone dvd from redfox compatible with my slysoft license?
