Is there any email client software which supports Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) protocol which is used by Hotmail/Outlook accounts? I found that only Microsoft Outlook and Windows Live Mail software support it. No 3rd party software provides EAS support. Does anyone know about any email client software which supports Exchange ActiveSync protocol so that we can quickly sync Hotmail or Outlook email accounts similar to Outlook and Windows Live Mail desktop clients?
EMCLIENT eM Client supports all major services including Gmail, Exchange, iCloud, and Outlook.com You can find more information in the server section.
Thanks for the replies guys. Windows Live Mail already comes with EAS support. Do emclient and TheBat contain native support for EAS similar to Outlook and Windows Live Mail? Please note I'm not talking about Outlook/hotmail email account support here. I'm asking for EAS protocol support in email clients.
WLM does not currently have EAS support, at least not the versions I have seen. eM Client connects to an Outlook.com acoount using m.hotmail.com so unless it is EWS it looks like EAS to me. EDIT, The Bat does not have EAS support, and program is just as terrible as always, layout a total clusterfuuck. Reminds me of a another dinosaur, Eudora.
If WLM doesnt provide support for EAS then whats the protocol that WLM uses to connect to Hotmail or other Windows Live account? Because its neither POP3 nor IMAP. If its a different kind of protocol, does any other email client support that protocol?
DeltaSync will be retired some time next year after what I can see. If you are using WLM you will be one of the last to be moved to full exchange, they should email you before and warn you. Will be after the whole hotmail back-end is moved to full exchange system. After that we can just use Outlook 2007 and newer. Read the two links I posted right at the top
