Any performance difference between the Windows 8 Versions?

I'm sure it is imaginary but just installed Core and it doesn't feel as fast and snappy as Pro.

Nope, zero benefits. You just get some extra features.

Nope, none at all. The only real difference you get is KMS activation and a couple of apps and features.

Not really, i have tested all versions, and to be honest, i would prefer windows server datacenter 2012 x64.For some reason it just seems faster, plus you can use the Daz loader for permanent activation :p but that's just me.. Sorry,no benchmarks, it's just a personal feeling and opinion not based on any proven facts,,just personal use :)

    I would second that.

And it's easy to "tweak" Server 2012 to look like Windows 8 with GUI. Personally I wouldn't recommend later because it will also decrease the speed! Speed of loading really didn't count for me, what count's is that I like to have as less apps running as TSR as possible. It keep CPU usage, Memory use and Resources more free.

Anyway, that speed issue is for loading apps and service only, in the norm al working process that speed is the same as from plain Windows 8.

It's an interesting strategy. Paying for something, then not using it. It could have stayed in the shop, it can do nothing there as well.

What really matters is how well windows can manage these resources, using them, when they are available, and freeing them up, when something important needs them.

Waste of time any hows as it turns out Windows standard/core is useless for MAK / KMS.

I may as well just stick with enterprise and have loads of features and function i will never ever use. :D

Yes, Server 2012 is faster and I originally thought it was because it was lighter with less going on in the background, but you can pimp out your Server 2012 with all the features of Windows 8 and it is still faster.

So is datacenter faster than the standard server version ?

And is Datacenter included on the standard server 2012 disk as i can't find it at MSDN for the SHA1 key.

Can't personally answer what is faster, but this comes with Standard and Datacenter.
