You cannot install hyperv if you don't have nested pagetables on the client Windows 8. (I used Hyperv in VMWARE running a 2012dc evaluation vm when I was working out what to do to configure the standalone Hyperv server 2012 properly.)
you dont need a 3rd party program to enable that stuff, go into services and enable them yourselves. also readyboost USB is almost useless this day in age since most USB keys are slower than HD's unless you have a USB 3 drive.
Hey, I too am using Win 2012 as a workstation os...its fast. fluid and fine. Installed Classic Shell (though I use Metro)...and made some tweaks....Wireless, themes ,sound working fine...hibernate enabled...enable these in the features in server manager....Good Enuf for a desktop OS.
I've been running Server 2012 with Hyper-V on a (non-SLAT capable) laptop for some tests and even with the hypervisor running it works much better than in the previous release. It was unbearable on 2008 R2, but it's usable now. Depending on your hardware or drivers your experience may vary.
oh yes,i have really been enjoying winserver2012 on my ocz ssd,it really performs great and have experienced no flaws with it,i love it
Why repeat what post #2 above said the same thing? Thanks for your report! I haven't had time to fool with this and other techie curiosities I've wanted to lately, hopefully will soon.
I've been dual booting with Win7. The only thing stopping me from using it basically 24/7 is waiting for a good free AV to use since I can't install MSE or Windows Defender on it.
