Been messing with a mobo and done a bad flash.

Been reading about such things and come across some neat looking stuff on ebay

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150421479123&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Not really knowing exactly what this does but what i can gather ,you take your BIOS chip out, sling it in this. The software included re codes the chip to an original state, from a none corrupt original bios file.

Now if this is the case i recon if somebody who plans on doing a lot of flashing, this might come in handy. Then i thought somebody on here might already have one.

Does anybody have one,or summet similar ?

If so do you offer a "bring my chip back to life" service ? how much ?

I might even see if i can find a UK seller and get one. might come in handy for "tn big boots" :p

Depending on BIOS and depending on whether you flashed and failed the boot block, you should still be able to re-flash it

Award BIOSes seek a floppy drive with DOS and an auotexec.bat file to reflash, AMI can seek the flasher directly I believe based on name

    Try these things first:
    - reset CMOS (either via jumper or battery removal)
    - unplug all devices except FDD, RAM, CPU & start PC
    - try the secret key presses to get floppy to seek (Ctrl-Home I think for Award)
