    Hi.

Just wondering anyone here able to download Windows 7 SP1 Via Windows Update?

I would not want to waste my bandwidth to download the 900MB installer.

Also does Windows 7 SP1 really improve Performance?

Will Hard-mod SLIC 2.1 be detected?

Not yet. All signs indicate that it will be made available later today.

If you take a look at the list of 800+ integrated hotfixes, several are fixes for memory leaks and performance-related bugs. However, this does not mean a huge boost in performance (and I haven't seen anybody try to make such claims).

The SP1 documentation indicates that WAT will be included, but the MSDN/WZOR leaked versions do not have it included. If Windows Update pushes a newer version of KB971033, it may detect more activation exploits, but I would guess that hard-modded systems would be the last to be detected, if ever.

Then only download the appropriate version of the service pack (x86/x64) from wzor.net ;)

I downloaded RTM (all architectures/languages-1.99G) from OEM Builder's site this morning, so, M$U should have it real soon.

I have not noticed too much difference compared to a fully updated x64 Ultimate in performance.

Patch Tuesday releases are always at 10 AM, Redmond time. I don't know about other, non-PT WU releases, but that's probably a good guideline for when you can expect things (so people can stop waiting for midnight releases on WU).

Installation of Win7 Service Pack via WU went smoothly (x86/Win-Ultimate). Noticing no problems at all. Windows & Office programs are still activated and 100% functional after the successful installation (two reboots are needed when applyng KB897932 Windows 7 Service Pack 1 update.

Are You using loader or Hard-Mod SLIC ? maybe this may help out those who use loader method to check if WAT is a force update when updating to SP1 via Windows Update.

I've installed 32 and 64 bit service packs from windows update. One a 1000HA w/ 32 bit windows 7 ultimate and my desktop w/ same version, 64 bit. They seemed to take a while to completely download and install. I've hard modded the bios on both and they seem to be running great.

Well i downloaded the updates, and you need to verify you have genuine windows, and it gives you a code to put into the windows update site.

I have applied the KB897932 on two different computers. Which are a laptop which I have Hard-modded with Bios SLIC 2.0, and a desktop computer which has been software modded using the the ULoader v7.0.0.2 by Orbit30 tool. Both computers remain genuine and functional after applying the SP1 update.

    Mind 2 Windows 7 64bits PC ( Award SLIC 2.1 SSv3, AMI SLIC 2.1 SSV3) was not detected.

I disable Windows Activation Technology at Service and task schedule.

So the every 90 days it wont load up and do the scan since it is run by schedule of every 90 days via service.
