Is anyone looking forward to the RTM build? When it gets leaked with Rapidshare, I'm going to download it and put it on one of my laptops, then when it comes out on October 22, I'm going to get it and upgrade it on my HP.
And who doesn't ? Silly question, but I think that everyone in this forum is looking forward to it. I'll put the RTM on my rig as soon as we have a confirmed Win7 cert to use the SLIC method.
So long as somebody comes out with a bullet proof crack for the RTM version, i'm surely going to install the RTM version. If not then i'll just stick to the RC version until it expires then think of something
the closest thing to a bullet proof crack will be a OEM Cert and Matching SLIC Table/PublicKey/OEM Product Key. I asked awhile back and someone said that WinVista SLIC Tables will work with Win7 once it comes out. So if you have a modded BIOS with added SLIC tables then as long as you have a valid Win7 Cert and Key you are good to go. MC
Actually it has already been discovered that you will need a new SLIC, cert & PID for OEM activation of W7. You will need a modded BIOS with a SLIC created with an OA (OEM Activation) marker version 2.1. Existing markers in currently modded BIOSs are version 2.0 although there are already some actual OEM BIOSs with v2.1 markers. Microsoft has already provided OEMs with new tools. The v2.1 SLICS will apparently be backward compatible so that you can activate W7 or Vista with a v2.1 marker, but v2.0 will only activate Vista, not W7. OEM = RTM + SLIC + Cert + OEM Key What we are now missing is the RTM + Cert + Key, cause we already have got some SLICs with OEM Marker v2.1
