Had one of them 'voodoo rush' cards at the time because I didn't have the money and I didn't have a spare PCI socket. A bit underwhelming in general but my heart still beats a little faster when I think about playing unreal with its awesome graphics.

I had the older Voodoo Graphics and Voodoo II cards (they required another card for 2D - either PCI or AGP; the Voodoo Graphics and Voodoo II cards themselves were PCI) That was also in the ATI heyday - in fact, I tag-teamed the Voodoo and Voodoo II cards with AIWs (from the original AIW to the All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro in AGP).a Voodoo II/AIW 9700 Pro tag-team was, literally, the best of all worlds - GLide in 16-bit, OpenGL in either 16-bit or 32-bit color, or DirectX in 16-bit or 32-bit color, as neither Voodoo Graphics or Voodoo II supported 32-bit color, while ATI DID support 32-bit color in both OpenGL and DirectX. Remember Forsaken? It was one of only two games (GLQuake being the other) that supported OpenGL32-bit - however, it also supported DirectX in 32-bit color. If you had that tag-team, it presented one heck of a dilemma - what color bitness did you choose?

Bitter memories, my first real card was a matrox mystique - I so regretted not getting the 3dfx instead.

3dfx card were the best gaming graphics cards in there day. Unmatched in gaming until nvidia bought them (sell out). Then as usual 3dfx disappeared.

I just checked my wall cabinet, sure enough my old Asylum GeForce FX 5900 (AGP) video card is still up there.
I know way back when 3DFX was great & I moved on I decided to save that card anyway along w/ a Diamond Stealth 2 S220 card incase I had a video failure & could just switch-out w/ a older card that worked back then.
    Times sure have changed.

u think they buy that company and throw away everything else...im sure nvidia copy and integrated some of that technology in their earlier cards. 3dfx was one of the best and most advance video gaming cards of that time. so in many ways the Voodoo lives on in Nvidia.
