I know it's for devs, it's technical preview and it could be buggy or incomplete but still is there anyone using it as main OS? And for gaming specially?
Dual booting with win7, I know it's gonna have bugs but I prefer to experience an os on a real rig rather than a VM..
I am so far, no problems, I've made a application compatibility thread in the forum, go check it out! Gonna play some games tonight!
how does it compare with windows 8.1 in speed and performance? like general usage; boot, shutdown, loading programs etc.?
Much faster than 8.1 in a VM, haven't tried on physical machine yet. Install time was much faster too. (Win10 for Enterprise x64). VM has two 3.4ghz cores and 4gb ram given to the guest.
I will be on my laptop but not on my main. I will put some games on here and see how it performs. i5 with hd4000 8gb ram.
I upgraded my laptop and will be using it as it will be the next deployment for my office. It is much more polished than the Windows 8 Developer Preview, and could probably be ran by most people with minimal issues. The only problem I have run into is some programs, notably Office and IE, seem to freeze the system for 1-2 seconds while being opened. Not sure if that is a weird bug from doing an upgrade instead of a clean install or what. If it doesn't clear itself up in a few weeks via Windows Updates I will try a clean install to see if the issue persists.
I really should do a physical install. VM is only so good for so many things. Maybe after work tomorrow.
Windows 10 Tech Preview + Arch Linux + OSX Yosemite so dual booting so far i find the OS very stable and quick
Just installed on my Surface Pro 3, after good results in a VM earlier today. Very happy with it so far. Will put it on my work desktop machine tomorrow and build some server VMs.
I am. Sadly, everything I need works; was hoping to have a bit of fun with getting things working but MS didn't leave any room for that kind of fun
Yes, using as main os with no dual boot just a system backup image of Windows 8.1. I will test gaming later
