    Hi Guys,

I've been having problems with Windows Update and Set Up on SVR2008R2 and WHS 'Vail' in Hyper-V. If I use a Hyper-V 'Network Adaptor' Windows Update almost always error's out in SVR2008R2 and Vail won't update or allow me to setup a Domain.
Lucky, switching to a Hyper-V 'Legacy Network Adaptor' solves all these problems. :)

Has anyone else had any problems like this.
    I'm using SVR2008R2 Ent. with Hyper-V, on a Dell Dimension 9200.
Activated with the Ent. SLP key, Dell SLIC and Cert.
This happens with the builtin Intel NIC, a NetGear GA311 and a D-Link DGE-528T.
So my guess is, its some sort of bug in the Virtual Network driver.

I haven't tested WHS in a VM but from what I understand as long as the VM additions are installed then you should be good to go as long as the virtual NIC connected to whatever virtual network the internet is connected to. I have extensive experience with Hyper-V and have never seen this before, so it is either WHS or your virtual network setup.

The windows update log would help too if you have it that way I can see what it is erroring out on. Are you able to get out to the internet with the virtual NIC?

    Hi tsells,

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

Would this 'TCP Offload' cause problems connecting to shares via smb ?
e.g. Accessing a share on a Hyper-V Guest OS from XBMC.
