at work, I have a Windows 7 PC, I am connected to a work domain and I can't do the simplest of things such as update the Adobe Flash Player because my account is a standard user. Obviously the command of net user administrator/active:yes won't work because I don't have any privileges to turn it on is there a way to bypass this and be able to install apps or convert my account to an admin account?
@ian82 if you are connected to a domain, our user account is a standard one this is the first point. Only the domain administrator is admin of your pc because his account belongs to the group of administrators on your pc. Second point some GPO have been deployed in order to avoid installation of softs and so on. Third point only the domain administrator can "give" you some privileges. No other solutions.
Software updates should be either auto implemented or on-demand using management software like Microsoft SCCM or Novell ZCM If you do not have this then there is something wrong with your domain administrator....
