So My apps start but then they just spin for hours and nothing else happens. I have pretty much narrowed it down to norton. Heres how: I backed up my pc. I then refreshed it, then installed all windows updates etc, and the apps were working. I installed norton and boom the apps stopped after system restart. I really need norton so I was wondering how can I fix the settings in norton to work with the apps?? PS: After uninstalling norton the problem keeps happening. I would have to restore to before I had. Norton.
Why? MS made quite nice AV in W8 what is almost invisible and doesn't ask stupid questions. Just use it. BTW: I think, that AV isn't needed at all if user isn't stupid. I run without AV and UAC for 2 years without incident (I just use standard Windows Firewall (set nicely) and I never had rubbish like Java installed). There are also additional conditions: The user should not steal software (run cracks) and browse porn TGPs, which will redirect you to exploits.
What do you all think of Kaspersky as this as sandbox built in, I know it can be a problem will some apps in windows 8 but just change them from un-trusted to trusted & they run fine also is windows defender really that good ive ran Kaspersky for 5years no problems I found Norton slow my system down that was back in 2006 as said before Norton itself is a virus system hogging program But I accept some people like its personal choice Also what is the best Adblocker Kaspersky as this built in also but you must apply it & sometimes it can block thing on sites you may wish to use
I had the same issue with no 3rd party AV installed so do not listen to the usual BS that Norton or such is to blame. In fact it was a newish clean install without bare min of programs installed. If you read results using Google you can find its a very common issue, sometimes it IS the firewall blocking but if they work and then stop working without adding any new software to PC (in my case) then its down to Windows itself. I had to do repair install to fix it as nothing I read online worked.
Stop trying to be a smartarse. The fact is it happens without Norton for me (or any other software) and others so could be pure coincidence. Your blanket statement is bull s**t.
Has nothing to do with you big mouth, I was giving the OP's topic what input I had from my own findings.
