.ARU file extension Help

    Hello

    Can anyone Please tell me how to modifie a .aru File?

    I have a autorun.ARU file which I can open with Notepad, but after modifying and saving it doesn't work. Running autorun.exe (to which autorun.ARU is associated) gives me the error: "Invalid file format"

    Try editing the file in a hex-editor rather than Notepad.

    Notepad cannot handle certain chars, hence it 'converts' them upon saving and as a result the file is practically useless.

    This might be what is happening here.
