Just a question, A clean install using a 7 or 8.1 key wont activate any more unless an assistive technologies upgrade from the previous OS has been done before ? Thanks
Last time i tried, the normal iso upgrade still works to get a HWID for 10, the only thing stopped is that MSFT doesn't easily offer it anymore in previous windows versions.
So is it still possible just to clean install using a 7 or 8 key that has never been on 10 ? Will it activate ?
Upgrading or generating a genuineticket.xml still works, don't know about using 7/8.x keys to activate.
I have tested twice yesterday (12 Nov) and genuineticket.xml from W7 Dell OEM (that i have done many times before) did NOT work. Assistive tech upgrade did work (just to confirm I clean installed 1607 iso). Showed Activated as soon as connected to Internet Keys (7/8) did not work for a very long time! sebus
Tomorrow i get a laptop to install 10 on. I always test the genuineticket.xml method and the normal ISO upgrade method. Last week genuineticket still worked.
That won't last. End of sales OEM's to stop selling Hardware with Windows 7 by 10/31/16 OEM's will only be able to ship Hardware with Windows 10
