any help ? our laptop lenovo with win7 ultimate running fine. Hope you are not trying to upgrade. From XP, one can only do a clean install. Also, what exactly do you mean by "will not take win7"?
I wouldn't even bother running Windows 7 on something so old. The A7A266 was not a stable board to begin with, and Windows 7 is probably not installing for lack of ALi chipset support. The page file will be on overload due to only having 512MB RAM in that system.
