Hi guys, I am in a bit of problem here. I have a ASUS laptop (details below), which had an outdated bios so I tried to update it within windows using the Asus Winflash utility (I heard it rewrites boot block but I am not sure) Things did not go well, the bios was erased and was rewritten, but the program failed to verify the bios image and said that it did not match. A restart later, my laptop was bricked. When I turn it on, the led lights come on for half a second then the computer shuts itself off immediately. System : Asus K55A - R500A Bios is from American Megatrends inc. Aptio, I think i7 3610qm 8 gb DDR3 NOT under warranty Symptoms: When I turn it on, the led lights come on for half a second then the computer shuts itself off immediately. What I have tried so far: - get a bios rom from the asus website - rename it to amiboot.rom - put it in a 4gb fat32 formatted USB stick - stick it in the system and press Ctrl + home Results : nothing worked, the USB drive doesn't even light up. Please help me . I can't afford another one right now. Thanks in advance

Do I just rename the file? As I said, the led lights come on, but except for that there is no sign of life. The power, caps lock, and WLAN light comes up quickly and then turn off, in a cycle
