    Dear All -

I am trying to install my DELL SLIC patched AMI bios in my Asus notebook; but the Asus provided Bios update software is refusing to comply stating that the BIOS installed in the system and modded BIOS have same release dates!

Any suggestions as to how I can come around this problem, please??

    Regards.

    Try this

    Guide by NoJuan999

    aflash2 instructions :

    1. Create a bootable floppy disk or usb stick
    2. Add the aflash2 provided and the modified bios
    3. Type aflash2 /all
    The flash program will start
    4. Select 2
    After flash is finished restart

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

How are you flashing dude? I have an Asus board and I know that if you burn the bios rom to a cd and reboot and press ALT+F2 when it first turns on you can flash your bios using EZ Flash and that should work. I am guessing that you are either using a windows flash tool by asus or Afudos. I know that Afudos sometimes does not work on Asus boards for whatever reason but the EZ Flash method works great and is actually easier to use mate. Try that and see what happens. :)

Now I have got one more problem, I have 2 usb disks one 4gb one 16 gb I cannot format one of them under Win 7 as a startup disk; the tick box remains greyed - unfortunately; any ideas on how to overcome this bit please??

I'll tell you how I flashed my AMI ASUS Bios. Okey, at first move you modded bios in folder that you can find easily, second restart and open Bios Setup(F2 on my notebook while POST) then see if you have Easy Flash utility if so start it, choose modded bios and start flashing. That's it. Hope it'll work.
