    Hello,

I unfortunately bricked my ASUS N53JF notebook after a BIOS flash where I placed the BIOS file on an NTFS file system.

Now from my understanding, I need a full BIOS dump from another identical laptop. Except, I don't even know how to do a full BIOS dump. How do I instruct someone to do this? When you use EZflash 2, there's an option to backup - would this provide a full BIOS dump?

Is there someone out here who could maybe give me the file that I'll need to transfer onto my chip using a programmer? Is there any other way to revive my computer?

    Thanks,

In this case isit just the BIOS chip which is buggered ?
The tool your on about' is it an Eeprom Programmer ? somebody on here might have one and offer to reflash the chip ?

I did a very quick ebay search for your Asus and it came up with a few BIOS chips. From a couple of different countries too..

    This maybe an option.....

Can you actually get to the chip to take it out ?

Wish you luck ingetting it sorted...

You do say you want to do a BIOS dump....If you have done a bad flash is this not the thing to do but download a proper Asus one...

if nothing works.. make a backup.bin of your bad bios chip then we compare to the download and then u flash.

i have N53SV bin.. close but not same.

by the way the bios dload for SV is 2mb .. the bios chip is 4mb.. not all of it is in bios dload.. have to merge with current part of bios.

Ok, finally got the programmer. Unfortunately, the chip is no longer responsive. As such, I got nothing at all. Do you mind posting what you got. Those motherboards looks similar, with higher components. I might as well give it a shot.

Thanks, none responsive - I meant the programmer wont detect the chip. I tried other chip and the programmer detects them just fine. I will give a couple more tries.

I was able to find a complete dump from one of the .ru forums (google translate made this posible). Could you please check to see if this will work or if it needs to be combined with what you posted. Thanks!
