as per found in multiple threads, over and over, people have success upgrading to WIN7 Ultimate from WIN7 HomePremium. Im not one of them. Its a g73jw-a1 not that it may matter... I have tried 5 keys from //forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/10370-Windows-7-OEM-SLP-Key-Collection I have first tried doing it without internet access. As suggested by one thread as im using an OEM Key. Ive also found threads that state that OEM Keys will not work... Ive tried to attached 3 screenshots of just the window.. showing one of the oem keys, another that shows the scrren after i hit agree to agreement and then the upgrade button, and the last one is where the error shows up but alas my post count is too small to do so. in a nutshell after it tells me it will take 10 mins.. it comes up with Enter a different upgrade key The upgrade key you entered is for an edition of windows that does not work with Windows Anytime Upgrade. Enter a different upgrade key So whats going on ??
as much as id agree if i was going from say vista to win7 but not when theres only a few program differences between win7 hp and win7 ultimate. point is, its supposed to work.
on nearly clean systems(newly bought) i have( after some removing of bloatware/configuring the system) had 6 successful upgrade's to ultimate, however each and every time i used the corresponding OEM key for THAT particular manufacturer(needles to say where i got them ) as most pre-installed laptops/desktops come with slic 2.1 already present, upgrading should be painless, however, this is in my current experience in the matter.
WOAT not work on systems without this SLIC Exclusively work on machines OEM or BIOS MODDED Just a SLIC to activate all versions with shared keys
