    for yen and athers modders

my motherboard has FC module and i use the ASUS_AMI-FC10 to mod my bios
all done with this tool, but when extracting the 1B and FC module using MMTOOL and editing with WinHex, just the 1B module is patched and nothing
    for FC .
so i need a manual guide to do dynamic mod ( not super static ) to have windows xp and vista activated like the method which is used by official OEM bios.
    thinks in advance
    help please.

Don't worry, this is normal behavior.

think's Fzeven for your replay so the ASUS_AMI-FC10 tool can't modify FC module, just
    the 1B module. why??!

You can look with Everest at the adress space where the slic sits in.
At some later bioses Asus has build in some kind of FC lock.
The FC tool unlocks that lock.
The slic in the 1b module is already present before the mod.
It isn't complete at the time, the tool copies the whole slic on top of it.
And unlocks the subroutine that has to decide if it is blended in or not.

It is dynamic, so you don't have to do anything.

Yes i know the method, i've used it on severall bioses.
But it will not work because of the fc-lock.
Only bioses with out the lock can be done with that method.
Take my word it is dynamic with the fc-tool.

    Dear Fzeven!

Please can you explain me, what about with this FC-Lock!
I have a similar problem with the new BIOS for my Asus P5K!

    Here is my thread: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/1798

I dont understand whats the difference between the two different tools to mod a BIOS.
I have thought, that when my BIOS have a FC Modul I have to use the program for the FC Bioses.
So, I dont understand the difference?
I hope you can explain me.

    Thanks in advance
    Bye!

The difference is Static / Dynamic, dynamic is the way that manafactuers use to blend the slic in.
You can use the other tool. ( AMI_SLIC3-0930 )
That is a static one, but for now there are no real disadvances at the method.
People fear that MS find/use a way to stop the activations of the static one's.

    Dear Fzeven!

    Many thanks for your explaination.
    I understood what you wrote.

So, the only way the mod the new BIOS with the dynamic way is to wait for a updated tool.

    Thank you very much!
    Bye!
