I downloaded a modded bios which was done by way of pubkey for Dell (1403), flashed using ASUS Update, installed Win 7, installed the cert and the correct key and it didn't work! It still says I have 30 days to activate!

Then I modded the bios myself by downloading it from ASUS and using Awardtool. Same Thing! BTW, the bios works great in all other respects.

    Please Help :)

    p5n-e issues

i had this issue with my p5n-d -- trying to make a lenovo bios for it

i ended up doing a ssv3, but had to also select 'shrink epa' under the ss3v options to get it to work...
so afaik you dont just need to get the slic in there, you need it in there in the right format, in the right location

I'm sorry, but I have no idea waht ss3v is. There must be a way to do this by way of SLIC

Thats not it, try the isa mod. SSv3 modifies a lot of code, best to leave this till last. You have a slic table in the acpitbl.

    EDIT:

SSv3 is a way to put the slic code in the mainbios, adjust the oemit/tableid and pointers in the acpitbl, resize the mainbios to keep offsets, and reintroduce both to the bios. The epa module is blacked out for compressibility and size. It is a modified 0+2 type (or the other way around), kinda..LOL... The tool does it in seconds, but it is actually quite a bit of change. Not optimum if you can do it another, less invasive, way..

    ISA is an addon module..

All methods use SLIC code, it is just how to make the bios use it...

it was incompability w my pci- sata controller (silicon) and the BIOS

i take a look on google, and tried to put out the controller... then boot using the raid, and install the controller again

it's working fine now, haven't tested activation yet, gonna install my win7 rtm today

So.. can anyone confirm thier board activated with the latest BIOS (1403 beta) and RAID working properly?

If so, please post the bios and tell us which cert was used.. and if you're feeling particularly generous please give us a hint at the key.

    Thank You
