    Looking for a working DL link for a modded ASUS P5Q Deluxe BIOS
    There is a link in the stickied thread for modded BIOS:es but "mine" leads to a dead end.

    Thanks in advance!

    You can get what you need here:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/328244657/P5Q-ASUS-DELUXE-2301.rar

    There are three BIOS files inside:
    1) P5Q-ASUS-DELUXE-2301.ROM: original BIOS officially released by ASUS;
    2) P5Q-ASUS-DELUXE-2301_SLIC.ROM: DELL SLIC 2.1 BIOS;
    3) P5Q-ASUS-DELUXE-2301_M0D_SLIC.ROM: DELL SLIC 2.1 BIOS w/ 3 (three) updated Option ROMs, which are a) marvell 88se61xx: 1.1.0.L70d -> 1.1.0.l72a; b) Intel(R) RAID for SATA: v8.0.0.1038 -> v8.9.0.1023; c) Memory Sizing Block from "Maximus-II-ASUS-Formula-2202" to improve DDR2 compatibility;

    I'm using the last one, P5Q-ASUS-DELUXE-2301_M0D_SLIC.ROM. It is working fine but I didn't test it yet on any Windows 7/2008R2 for OEM activation.

    Hi All,

    Was looking for a 2301 SLIC BIOS 2.1 for my P5Q Deluxe, and found this post. Tried Option 3 BIOS + SLIC + INTEL + MARVELL +memory sizing block upgrade. It has bricked my marvell controller partially. Now the CD ROM (Liteon ATA UDMA4) has slowness problems, my system gave me dozens of BSOD durins several OS reinstall (XP64, W7 x64, W7 x86). I suspect that even the INTEL ICH10R bios upgrade did some bad to my board as i was experiencing various BSOD errors which after analysis of the error, revealed problems either with PATA mode on Marvell, either with memory controller and SATA drives.

    Finally after flashing my BIOS back to another 2301 + dell slic , my board and XP64 OS was stable again, with..unfortunately a terribly slow CDROM . It seem the marvell controller suffered permanently.
    I think about buying a SATA CD burner and definitley deactivate this controller anyway.. :( . my machine is now running again 4.02 ghz (E8500 3.16 nominal) and my FSX smooth as silk.
    So a personal warning for the 3rd Bios file, on the former post.
    @Roman: if u were still wondering if the 3rd Bios OEM activation works, i do confirm it, at some cost ;)
    Cheers,

    I personally do not experience such problem. Anyway, here is another mod with INTEL SATA Option ROM 8.9.1.1002.

    Thanks for the info! Saw that program in asus downloads, but didn't find any instructions..

    So just need to make a bootable usb and put the rom file there and run "afudos /ixxxx.rom" command, right?

    You become musty slic also your 2.1 bios on USB put, afterwards your PC. starts up setup in bios goes afterwards to tools and in this finds you the EZ flash. This goes very well

    Hi genuineintel, has this bios the other two options of the original 3rd bios link [5Q-ASUS-DELUXE-2301_M0D_SLIC.ROM: DELL SLIC 2.1 BIOS w/ 3 (three) updated Option ROMs, which are a) marvell 88se61xx: 1.1.0.L70d -> 1.1.0.l72a; b) Intel(R) RAID for SATA: v8.0.0.1038 -> v8.9.0.1023; c) Memory Sizing Block from "Maximus-II-ASUS-Formula-2202" to improve DDR2 compatibility;] enable??

    In that situation, could you make a new one bios setting the slic 2.1 from Dell to Asus, introducing your new mod with INTEL SATA Option ROM 8.9.1.1002, and respecting the two others parameters/options that are built in the original bios?? it would be marvellous and I'll be much appreciated if you can do it for me...

    Thanks in advance, sorry for my poor english and best wishes...Rob :)

    @ xtreme systems they did som bios modd back in the days and they took the time to modd some of the p5q boards.
    I took the last modded p5q deluxe bios from them that i based on the last from asus and did a slic 2.1 injection.

    What was modded is the:

    - Inseted Rampage Formula 1001 P6 table
    - Inserted Rampage Formula 1001 memory table
    - Intel SATA RAID ROM updated to 9.6.0.1014
    - Marvell 88SE6121 Option ROM updated to 1.1.0.L73

    Running my own with this, moore stable then before :)

    Asus 2.1 slic, asus slp

    http://www.simpleupload.net/download/534701/P5Q.Deluxe.7z.html

    AFUDOS included and bios should be flashed with it in this form:
