    I have modded my bios on my ASUS P6T SE to the following which I found on this forum :-

    Asus P6T SE ver. 0504 : AMI
    slic=Dell, slp=Dell, method=ssv3, mod Busykid508, tested thedirge

    I used the Dell key 342DG-*****-*****-*****-*****

    It worked and I was able to activate Win7 without problem, however after downloading and installing Microsoft's KB971033 (WAT) it is now deactivated ! :(

    I'm not sure why it failed WAT, has anybody got any idea's why ? :confused:

    Are you sure it deactivated a mod bios? I'm going to take a wild guess that it checks to see what mobo it is and what slic should be associated, like mobo= asus, slic = asus, slp = asus then it doesn't deactivate, mobo = asus, slic = dell, slp = dell, somethings wrong and deactivates it.

    There are numerous people on this forum where mobo doesnt match SLIC and their systems are still genuine. If what you are describing had been correct, we would have seen far more "casualties".
    I wonder if acer54 used one of those "preactivated" dvds to install win7?

    I did'nt use a "preactivated" Dvd to install win 7, I have since switched to Server 2008 R2 because as I understand this OS will be exempt from installing KB971033 (WAT)
