Thanks for the nudge. I did this and it was remarkably easy to generate a new BIOS with an SLIC 2.1 - one question. There were 3 slic2.1 for asus supplied. I picked one but they are all for notebooks. My bios is a desktop. does that matter in the least ? I am thinking not. Also are there any boxes in the advanced tab that should be check or not checked of are the defaults recommended. I have not flashed yet. Since I had these few qestions. Here were the results of my update log:

There is NOT even one desktop one from Asus, so the notebook slic is all that there is.
No, it does not matter at all to you, certificate will work with no problems

It doesn't matter using a notebook bios for desktop as far as activation is concerned. Use default setting is the the best to mod yours unless you have other purposes.

OK - so one final question. The SLIC mod does not alter the boot block bios, correct ? So even if I have a misflash the chance of me trashing the bios is small? (save a power interruption). Am I correct in this thinking ? I did a winhex compare of the before and after (with a resyncronizing compare) and it changes a significant amount of the BIOS. That is why I ask. Thanks fellas for your prompt replies. Much appreciated.

Can you post bios 0403? Do you get clock interrupts in windows 7?

Tell me you experience with the A8R-MX/SI on Windows 7 please.

I switched to the 0303 bios for Vintage AH1 for the A8R-MX/SI board AMD RS482 for Overclocking features.

    Thanks bro!
