I know I made another thread with similar information, but it wasn't the original information and it was an inquiry with lots of bad information. This thread is to warn you with accurate information.
PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD. It was accidentally posted because my keyboard is messed up. FYI, CCleaner was working perfectly for me with addition of CCEnhanced for as many years as CCleaner existed and not ONCE has it caused a problem, but things did change. Please read my other ATTENTION thread!
Spybot Anti-Beacon works perfectly for me and no issues. I didnt try yet CCleaner in 10586 but I'll try it in my test PC
....CCleaner... shut down the edge, start menu, the Apps from Store here, now only use for cleaning browsers and temporary folders.
CCleaner is a great tool been using it for over 10 plus years and never one issue o problems from xp to Windows 10
Test 1 - Install Windows 10586 - Install Store Netflix App - Restart - Test if Netflix App works (it will) - Restart - Test if Netflix App works (it will) - Restart - Run FULL CCleaner FILE AND REGISTRY cleaning - Restart - Test if Netflix App work (it will NOT) Test 2 - Same as Test 1, but use CCleaner immediately after Windows 10 10586 installation - Restart - Test if Netflix App works (it will NOT) When both tests show that use of CCleaner breaks Apps as soon as it is used and PC is restarted, it is quite obvious that it is the cause, specifically the Registry cleaning. If you noticed, I specified that I used CCleaner + CCEnhancer for years now and haven't had a SINGLE problem until now.
I just tested jv16 PowerTools Registry cleaning (VERY Aggressive option), which is more thorough than CCleaner. Again, Netflix stopped working after cleaning and restarting! Then I restored the registry backup that jv16 PowerTools let me make, restarted PC, and Netflix was working again! So this isn't specifically CCleaner, but any registry cleaners that clean those specific entries will affect and possibly break Windows registry on which Netflix App relies to function. It could also be Microsoft's doing in regards to how they use those registry entries. The lesson to be learned from all this: When performing a clean 10586 install on a freshly formatted drive, be EXTREMELY careful with Registry Cleaners as they are more likely to cause problem than they could have with 10240 and 10240 --> 10586 upgrade.
How about if you uninstall Netflix and then reboot and reinstall Netflix and reboot again and try to start up Netflix again? If that's the case you need to talk to me so I shoot an email to a friend of mine who does all the updates for CCleaner
Done that after each and every registry cleaning that caused the bug. Re-installing Netflix does help and so does using Windows Update troubleshooter, but once you restart Netflix stopped working again. That means you will have to re-install it or use Troubleshoot after each reboot. That is why I stated - there isn't anything you can do to fix the problem once you got it. DISM commands will not help, WSReset will likely further mess up Store and ALL Apps after that registry cleaning, SFC ScanNow does nothing, AllPackageX CMD commands further ruin Store and other Apps.
Thanks for the details MX I just copied your last comment and emailed it to my buddy and I will give him a call in the next few mins after dinner
Not if used properly it ain't. Its a great tool, just some don't know how to use it carefully, in which case, they shouldn't be using it at all
