Hi there, So I have an initial thread here if anyone wants to review it. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/nvme-hds.88640/#post-1855280 After I got the guy to install the fans, things started to break down & I'm very concerned now because all of these parts are new, I can't just ship the MB back since I need a computer & I had it shipped to a package forwarding company & then to me in Mexico not thinking a brand new MB would be a problem. It's the MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard And I don't know if this guy doesn't know what he's doing because the last computer company I hired in Mx to put my old computer together broke it, hence the new system. Overseas the computer was working perfectly fine (albeit too slow for me) before I had it taken apart when I was moving from overseas to Mx. The parts did sit in my suitcase for over 2 years because I had no desk & keyboard tray, but they were in computer bags, wrapped in anti static plastic, etc. I had taken the HDs out at one point to copy data from them. It did boot up fine after the store put it together, but many months later once I turned it on & started using it, then it started crashing with the BSD sometimes upto 4 times per day. The new SSD I bought for it didn't solve the problem, so it's either the memory or MB. I'm just telling you this so you know what I've been going thru & how I can't trust anyone here to touch hardware. sigh Anyway, back to this new system... After this new guy put the fans in, the computer couldn't pick up the microphone (my headset) so I couldn't use voice on Telegram or WhatsApp. It was fine before. I also got the BSD once, which I hadn't gotten for the 3 weeks prior when the new computer was put together & had been working relatively fine. The guy who put it together was a different guy. I know, many different people LOL The fan techie wouldn't come back to fix it saying he did nothing wrong, so with the help of my website coder, I opened the case & pushed down the big power cord. That seemed to solve the audio TG problem, but when I was inserting everything back into the back, when I plugged in my speakers, I started to get a TON of screeching noises. Then at one point I smelled burning metal & started freaking out. Until now I don't know if it was from my computer, or the neighbors, because I heard them banging around next door around that time. The computer booted up, so I was praying it wasn't from the MB. What else could it be? I finally figured out when putting my headset back into the front, that the 2 left USB ports weren't working, but the 2 right ones were, & I'm pretty sure (I can't be positive) that I had plugged in the headset into the left ports at some point after the new computer was first put together. The other issue is that the red flashing HD light which NEVER flashed unless the HD was really taxed, started flashing all the time & sometimes was even solid red. This really scared me. Also, my keyboard is back to being hard to type on & while the mouse isn't double clicking, it's hard to drag. If you read the other thread, I had mouse & keyboard issues right after the OS install & eventually it calmed down after 1-2 weeks. When the fan guy finally came over on Monday night, he checked everything & said there was nothing wrong, but again, I got the BSD once when we restarted. I happened to have the cell phone near me & I grabbed a pic. He didn't know how to fix the flashing red light, & my website coder said it's too complicated for me to try & do on my own. He had me put a stick into the left USB ports & it worked, so aren't they recognizing my headset? Also, when he plugged in the speakers, again, loud screeching, just not as bad as when I put it in days earlier. He has no idea why it's doing that, he thought an electrical something or other & this is REALLY concerning me. Also, when I started recording VMs on Telegram on the right USB ports, they were very low. I could barely hear them & others complained about that too. Now it seems to be fine, but I think the volume level is fluctuating back & forth. One day the VMs are too loud, the next day too low. Unfortunately I can't determine what level my speakers are set too because it's just a knob for power & volume, & I turn it off every night when going to bed. I haven't yet reinstalled Windows 7 so we can try Windows Pro instead of the Ultimate. For these issues I don't think that's the issue because I wasn't having audio issues before he put the fans in. In fact, the only issues I was having were the mouse & keyboard issues. sigh Question - why would him putting the fans in cause all of these issues? Why does Windows screw up after hardware is installed. Isn't software separate from hardware? I know they don't want me using Win 7 on this MB, but he didn't do anything with that, he was just installing the extra fans. I don't even want to re-try the left USB ports again with the headset b/c I finally got it working properly (sort of) on the right ones. About an hour ago there was static coming from the speakers. Thank gawd I managed to get it to stop by just touching the speaker plug in the back, so clearly the audio issues are still a thing. Sorry for the long story & I hope someone can help. Thank you!
I want to know why my computer's volume is suddenly wonky, & how that could have possibly happened after he put the fans in including the flashing red light constantly blinking fast. And he went thru everything again & said it was all fine.
