Howdy.. Ok so i just installed Win 7 ult. on my computer.. Well everything is fine except i have no audio.. in the bottom right corner of the screen where the volume control is, it has a red X on it.. saying "No audio output device is installed".. i have a creative sound blaster audigy (i think SE).. i have the drivers installed from the CD / updated from the creative auto update program...

also before i upgraded, i made a .BAK using the backup tool Windows XP had.. well i can't restore the files because Windows 7 doesn't have that tool.. i searched Google and found nothing.. so all the help i can get is needed and appreciated..

Look for win7 or vista drivers on the vendor's site and download them.

Now uninstall the driver that's currently installed.

Reboot. Upon boot, install the new driver you just downloaded.

You can put the XP disc in and it wont dual boot. It doesn't work that way..

I would just hook up the xp disc and copy the files..much easier than VM junk...You are on the right track...

Also, sometimes if there is no speakers hooked up, the X will show..(no audio device connected..)
