Howdy.. Ok so i just installed Win 7 ult. on my computer.. Well everything is fine except i have no audio.. in the bottom right corner of the screen where the volume control is, it has a red X on it.. saying "No audio output device is installed".. i have a creative sound blaster audigy (i think SE).. i have the drivers installed from the CD / updated from the creative auto update program... also before i upgraded, i made a .BAK using the backup tool Windows XP had.. well i can't restore the files because Windows 7 doesn't have that tool.. i searched Google and found nothing.. so all the help i can get is needed and appreciated..
Look for win7 or vista drivers on the vendor's site and download them. Now uninstall the driver that's currently installed. Reboot. Upon boot, install the new driver you just downloaded.
Well i just ran the driver update.. i am about to restart and see if it worked.. Edit: But can anyone help me with the .BAK i made.. i really don't wish to lose my files..
Alright, i was just gonna install it on my slave and copy the data from it to my master.. but i don't want the dumb duel boot OS pick (Windows 7 or Windows XP) its annoying.. Thanks mate!
You can put the XP disc in and it wont dual boot. It doesn't work that way.. I would just hook up the xp disc and copy the files..much easier than VM junk...You are on the right track... Also, sometimes if there is no speakers hooked up, the X will show..(no audio device connected..)
Well i have my speakers hooked up lol, thanks for making sure i am not dumb Yeah, i am still deciding what i am going to do. I am not at home atm so i have to do it after i get back in a few hours. :'( Thanks though for your opinion mate
lol yeah i know, i am good with computers but this is my first time really getting dirty with Windows 7 lol so i have no idea what i am doing haha.. Thanks though
Try to reseat the card in the slot, and use everest or Sisoft sandra to post all info about the card.
Yeah i was gonna do that (reset the card slot) i just got so pissed i went to bed lol.. And mind me asking, wtf is everest/sisoft?
Ok i got the same ending after i reset/reseated the card in the slot.. I might have to upgrade sound cards? even though this is Vista supported so it should be Windows 7 supported... URG..
