I have been having a Interesting Error and i think its a false error from bootspeeds disc utility

I am currently using One HDD with win7 on one partition and win 8 on the other If check my HDD when running win7 bootspeed gives me a partition error on the active win 7 partition but not the win8 partition

The same if i run win8 bootspeed give an error on the win8 partition but not on the win7 one, I do get a disk error in the windows 8 action centre telling me a reboot is needed but this makes no difference

I have checked the drive with windows using a boot time disc check no errors found or repaired

I have tried passmark disck check it finds no errors as well

is it possible that bootspeed is giving a false reading or is my HDD on the way out ??

Have also checked HDD with sea tools dos application from seagate and no errors reported

could this be caused by a conflict because i have win 7&8 on the same physical disc even though there on separate partitions

Ok I dont think its got anything to do with auslogics

I backed up my win 8 installation and removed it the problem has gone

so im thinking some sort of conflict.

my win8 8 installation was on a logical partition not a primary one could this have been causing the problem i am going to reinstall win8 but this time on a primary partition so that both 7&8 are on primary partitions see if i get the same problem

If in doubt, just get a new hard drive. They are inexpensive nowadays. Dual booting Windows 7 and Windows 8 on any arrangement of drives should not pose to be a problem.

First i have checked disc with sea tools not one bad sector

removed win 8 installation no error detected by boot speed disc utility

    reinstalled win8

    bootspeed disc utility error detected

removed win8 again and error gone o_O

HDD is good sea tools is Seagate's own dos based disc utility

i have a external sata docking station going to install win on separate drive see what happens then

Ok installed on a separate drive as soon as i had bootspeed disc utility finds an error on C when running win 7 as soon as i remove the win8 disc
    no error

must be something to do with my PC or bootspeed

Next step must be to try installing it a virtual pc something i have not done before

Is there a guide to setting up a virtual install of win8 on win7 PC ??

Their probably is somewhere on the forum but it is very easy. Do you know what kind of program you want to use, eg Hyper-V, VMWare, VirtualBox, Windows Virtual Machine, etc..

Yea, just look around and read up. Its pretty simple once you do it and set up a VM for the 1st time.
