    Hi,

yesterday my Windows 10 Pro (v1909) auto-installed the following update: KB4592449.

This never happened before, because I have set (Group Policy) Windows updates to "2 - notify for download and auto install" after installing Windows (and it's still set to 2, I've just checked).

So far I've always decided when to download and install Windows updates. But yesterday the aforementioned update (KB4592449) installed by itself, automatically.

    Any ideas as to why?

    Thanks.

activate administrator login, login through it and then set group policy.

Critical security updates are pushed automatically at MS's discretion regardless of user's settings.

@ chillgates - I'm always logged in Windows as admin.

@ TairikuOkami - I've installed Windows 10 Pro on this PC in 2017 and this never happened before. Are you certain that MS pushes critical updates even when you have auto-update disabled? Is KB4592449 a critical update?

    Thanks.
