Hi, yesterday my Windows 10 Pro (v1909) auto-installed the following update: KB4592449. This never happened before, because I have set (Group Policy) Windows updates to "2 - notify for download and auto install" after installing Windows (and it's still set to 2, I've just checked). So far I've always decided when to download and install Windows updates. But yesterday the aforementioned update (KB4592449) installed by itself, automatically. Any ideas as to why? Thanks.
@ chillgates - I'm always logged in Windows as admin. @ TairikuOkami - I've installed Windows 10 Pro on this PC in 2017 and this never happened before. Are you certain that MS pushes critical updates even when you have auto-update disabled? Is KB4592449 a critical update? Thanks.
They push whatever they want; plus, there are other channels besides WU to push things through. You need to do a lot more to stop updates. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/sledgehammer-windows-10-update-control.72203/
use sledgehammer or stopupdates10 from greatis software to stop updates. they works on all windows 10 versions.
