Program Compatibility pop-up alert appeared right after the installation but the program seems to run just fine.
Strange, so how the heck did they claim Windows 8.1 support since even the previous BETA. This is the final so I didn't expect this at all
Support for Windows 8.1 preview in the previous beta's Basically this is a release version with official Windows 8.1 support. Avast 2014 (9.x series) is currently in beta testing, currently at version 9.0.2000. It is very much a beta version, so don't expect it to be in full working order if you decide to try it out .
Strange. In my case, Action Center recognizes Avast and does not show that information to install an anti-virus software. Using the latest Avast in Windows 8.1 RTM.
lol..found the problem...it seems that I downloaded the wrong version(8.0.1489) .....I downloaded again, this time the correct version and everything went smoothly.
