ive got a laptop with windows xp and i want to back it up on a external hdd. so if anything goes wrong i can reinstalle the the operating system plus all drivers is there any free software to do it? or is there any settings in xp that will let me back everything up just in case i need to do a fresh install thanks. kennyboy

Note: If you don’t find Backup listed in System Tools, double click on the file name ntbackup.exe in the Windows\system32 folder. In the “Backup or Restore Wizard”, click on the “Advanced Mode” link. Thanks for your reply i did look in accessories but could not find the back up so I will look in system 32 if I carnt get round that how do these 2 programmes work do thay go on external hdd or laptop. Kennyboy1
Install Paragon on the Laptop then you can backup to external drive or cd/dvd even make hidden partition if you actually read the page on the link there is even a user manual you can download and read first.
The manual is actually pretty nice for being made to compliment a free piece of software too. Much better than some free software manuals.
