Bad MBR

    Reboot with a linux livecd and see the partition type of the partition that linux see.
    You can use fdisk.
    After you can delete all the partition of the disk and write your change.

    you can try one program: Partition Table Doctor. - it could found on Hiren's BootCD. Really nice program.

    IF the only issue was a corrupt MBR, this was very easily fixed via Recovery Console fixmbr command.

    I am curious - no need to respond - but what were you trying to do in the first place with PM?

    Finally, please accept this gratuitous suggestion: do not use PM, especially with XP.

    maybe u can use acronis disk director and repair ur hdd there, or boot using linux LILO or use the FDISK /mbr or use the Grup4Dos
