I've finished building Windows 10 build 10162 On a Dell Latitude E6500, with Office 2013 Version 15.0.4420.1017 X64. Currently running with Firefox as web Browser, Windows Defender, Auslogics Boostspeed Version 8.0, iTunes, VLC, Adobe Reader, Flash, Air, Shockwave, and have not had any problems with this build so far. I just installed the Belarc Advisor Version 8 to check the system components and it shows the operating system as Windows 8.1 Professional, Build 9600 X64, which was installed from the ISO of Build 10162 on 7/4/2015. Can someone explain to me why it's showing Windows 8 instead of Windows 10?
maybe by this¿: "Operating Systems: Runs on Windows 8.1, 2012 R2, 8, 2012, 7, 2008 R2, Vista, 2008, 2003, XP, 2000, NT 4, Me, 98, and 95. Both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows are supported."
Since there is no final windows 10 release yet, they haven't added Windows 10 to their supported releases. They are showing you the correct build.
Just ran the AIDA64 Engineering Edition, and it shows the same information as Belarc, so until Microsoft updates the software for Windows 10, I guess it will show as a Windows 8 Professional install
Then the tools actually do no check the system, they assume something. SLMGR/WMIC/Registry are showing correct build-strings and Names .
Code: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion] "CurrentVersion"="6.3" 6.3 = Windows 8.1 6.2 = Windows 8 6.1 = Windows 7
Belarc Advisor is good, but do not upload your report on to the net. You would not believe how many people have done that and given away retail keys for their OS, Office, and other installed software
Close. Belarc has the last two but they assume > 6.2 = Windows 8.1 Similar to how you get an ad for a Google Store app when using Windows phone because web designers assume (not iPhone) = Android.
