Hey guys, I'm planning to sell my old Toshiba laptop in the not-too distant future (my Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop that I got 7 years ago in 2006) and I wanted to know which particular data wiping or data erasing software you would highly suggest? Even though that I do a simple delete, there's often ways that data can be recovered. Therefore, I wanted a "free" solution that does all the trick. Any suggestions?
Hiren's boot cd has at least one drive wiping program..... probably Ultimate Boot CD too.... Darik's (maybe a different spelling) wipe boot cd is probably a standalone download as well, Eraser was always good.. not sure what the free version has now vs the paid version.. but can check it out... some hard drive makers also provide a utility to 'low level format' the drive, thats a complete wipe tool also... trial version of r-wipe & clean might do a whole disk, not sure... there are a ton of programs.. google 'wipe drive' and im sure youll find a lot
Does Parted Magic feature a "disk cloning" option as well? I also wanted to know if it includes a way to copy/clone to an image on another store device and then restore/install that same image to another computer. Any suggestions?
