can anyone tell me the best driver to use with nvidia geforce fx5200 on windows 7 pro & ultimate 32 bit. currently using 96.85_forceware_winvista_x86_international_whql. thanks in advance. rochdale
Way back when I had a GeForce FX5200, the 96.85 version was the one I used. If you search the nVidia site, they don't even list a Windows 7 x86 driver for that card. If you're not having problems, you might want to just leave it alone. If you're wanting better performance, you need to move to a more modern card if your system will accept one.
yeah thanks, i'll stick with it. i was just wondering if there was something more up to date, but i guess it is a case of if it ain't broke don't fix it. thanks rochdale
What do you mean by "something more up-to-date"? What exactly are you wanting to accomplish? Generally, new drivers fix problems and/or support new features and such. Given this card is something like seven years old you can hardly expect much in the way of new features. If "up-to-date" means more features, better performance and support for more games and such, you need a newer card.
