I just bought Christmas presents for my sisters', two Compaq Mini 110c-1100DX netbooks. They come pre-installed with Windows XP, but I would like to load WIndows 7 on them (Probably Home Premium).

These are brand-new netbooks, so I would assume they would have the latest SLIC (2.1) in the bios, but what is the best way to check?

This is a link to the BIOS on HP's website, but I am not sure yet if the netbooks have this BIOS already installed.

You could try SLIC DUMP ToolKit x86/x64 (Includes PKey&Cert. Backup) but i'm sure they don't have slic 2.1 but if you have lucky enough maybe it's there..

    No. Unfortunately it does not.

So I am going to have to experiment with boot loaders. I really don't want to risk hard-modding it.
