Hi Everyone Tried to install Windows 10 build 10240 Home edition from a clean install and discovered that there are no drivers built into Windows 10 for the BigFoot Killer 2100 network adaptor, proceeded by installing the latest Killer 2100 software package version 6.1.0.603 which is listed as suitable for XP, Vista, Win7, Win8 & 8.1 64bit. In short the 2100 driver seems to fail to initialize and the BigFoot application fails to run, I also tried to install the software package in Win7 compat mode and as administrator but still failed. I tried the above software package on an earlier build of Windows 10 and it worked but it seems the RTM 10240 has nerfed the 2100 network adaptor. Has anyone else figured a work around for 2100 killer NIC's ? My BigFoot Killer NIC is onboard on a Gigabyte G1 Guerrilla X58 motherboard. Appreciate any usefull suggestions or help. Thanks Coolur
whoever uses such "gaming" cards is an idiot... go and spend your timing on learning how a phy & ethernet controller works.
No need to be an ass, his NIC is an onboard adapter on the board. To OP, try using it without any software, let windows automatically install the driver. If no luck, I would just get another NIC to plug in to board.
Unfortunately windows does not ever install the killer driver, it always has to be installed after windows.
What an utter stupid reply, do you seriously have nothing better to do with your time! FYI Yes the NIC is onboard and as it happens it was not by choice and I have no use for the software facilities the BigFoot application offers and have always disabled the software once installed as I only require the function of a driver! As to learning how a network controller works I already have this covered.
My dell uses the Qualcomm Atheros Communications Inc. 10.0.0.318 driver for my Killer wireless and it works perfectly..see what yours installed.
Yeah you can manually install the atheros driver through device manage and it reads it as the actual chip vs killer.
I have the E2200 killer card. And have tried the windows 10 RC on there web site. Knocked out internet and wiped network on all pc's. Did install the regular non software driver for 8.1 and works perfect.
I have the Qualcomm® Atheros Killer E2201 LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit) on my system. I use Qualcomm atheros drivers only, never used the killer NIC software. Anyway I don't game much lately so never an issue. I haven't had any problems with 10240 RTM so far.
Mine works just fine. I use Device Manager to grab the installed drivers from my Windows 8.1 installation and they work fine in Windows 10. I did not use the installer. To the people flaming us for having a Killer NIC, get a life please.
Hi Everyone Just want to say a quick thank you to all those who have offered suggestions and help. I will try the 10240 installation again with the suggestions offered and will report back with my findings later on today. Coolur
They're currently working on Windows 10 support on both E2100 & E2200.. facebook.com/pages/KillerNetworking/1017963054887842 facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1155344147816398&id=1017963054887842
