    Hi,

I have hard modded the bios of my Asus P5QL-E (with a dell slic/cert) and successfully added windows 7. I now have a dual boot Ubuntu and Win 7 system all running well. However at the boot menu the Grub boot loader option states that windows 7 is a "Loader". I thought a bios mod would be a seamless change and not recognised so casually by say, a boot loader. Is there anything else that should have been done?
Thanks to all the guys here who helped me get this done.

Either you used a Loader that is still present on the System or GRUB is seeing Windows 7 Boot Manager as a Loader.

Hi NoJuan999; It must be the latter as I have never used a loader - brand new disk. Seems strange though since the boot manager of windows 7 should be seen as normal. The only change is the added slic table (Dell) to the Bios.

It sounds like it is just the terminology used by GRUB because The Windows 7 Boot Manager "Loads" (i.e. Starts) Windows 7.

It's the terminology. GRUB even without a "loader" installed names the Windows entry that way.
