I'd like to start by saying that I've tried posting in request section (forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/5863-Award-amp-AMI-Bios-mod-requests.?p=325199#post325199), and I was told by NoJuan999 I should start a new thread because he had no more ideas on how to solve my problem. So, here's my original request:

-PC Manufacturer and Model HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7690n Desktop PC (h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00748726&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=&product=3271568)
-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : ASUS P5BW-LA (Basswood)
    -Bios Revision : 3.17
    -Bios Type : Phoenix-Award
    -Bios SLIC : 2.1
    -Bios Link : ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software9/COL20731/pv-54525-1/sp35153.exe
    -RW Everything: sendspace.com/file/rd8i43

With the help from NoJuan999, I've tried all of the following:
    • forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/5863-Award-amp-AMI-Bios-mod-requests.?p=325214#post325214
    • forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/7500-All-Slics-2.1-(Modded-Bios-List)-Note-For-requests-use-Bios-Mod-Requests-section?p=325216#post3252
    • forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/5863-Award-amp-AMI-Bios-mod-requests.?p=325606#post325606
    • forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/15460-An-easy-way-to-update-modded-BIOS-for-HP-Compaq-PCs-no-extra-tools-needed?highlight=
    • But all flashing don't seem to have any effect on the SLIC (forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/5863-Award-amp-AMI-Bios-mod-requests.?p=325617#post325617). Here's a screenshot of SLIC Dump Toolkit after the flash (tinypic.com/r/29p6lnd/7). Notice that the SLIC is reported as _ASUS_Notebook_V2.0 while it was modded with a HP bin-cert.
Sorry about the links; I don't have permission to post clickable ones.

Could somebody please help me figure out what I need to properly update the SLIC to 2.1? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you used any loaders or cracks in the past..be sure they are uninstalled. Possibly it may be necessary to clean MBR.

To help out, what prior mods were tried. I dont mind helping, I am not researching this tho.....sorry....

I have not installed any loaders. What I did, though, was flashed a BIOS modded with ASUS bin/cert. And I believe it's since then the _ASUS_Notebook_V2.0 has stuck. Do you think cleaning the MBR could clear it? If so, please advise proper steps.

Links to prior mods I've tried are listed in the OP.

No, the MBR is sometimes for loaders. Which mod did you flash for the 2.0? Do you know if it was dynamic mod or pubkey?

You have to flash from dos or ezflash if available. You also need to flash with all switches..

    @ 911Medic,
This is where the info for doing a Dynamic Mod (ACPITBL at End) came from:
    http://forums.mydigitallife.net/thr...Bios-Mod-Requests-section?p=228043#post228043
I also did a Pubkey Mod with HP-CPC Slic that he tried but it stll showed the remnants of his previous ASUS SLIC Mod that he made himself.
Here's the R/W Everything Report he posted also:

The Pubkey Mod I did is here:

    Try the next steps:
    1. download and run DAZ Loader ( http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/8632-Windows-Loader-The-Official-Thread?p=120996#post120996 ) to remove ANY Loaders
    2. reboot PC
    3. flash original BIOS from DOS with awd873.exe ( http://www.madmodmax.ru/files.php?f=files/awdfl873.zip ) or AWDFLASH_ASUS_V1.20.EXE ( http://www.sendspace.com/file/1d1vkq )
    4. Make a new RWE report

DAZ loader tool is very unnecessary. I think maybe flashing the bios from HP is a good start, clear cmos and load defaults manually. Download them from the HP support site, no third party to be sure.

I think flashing with the HP tool should be OK to start, no need for DOS flash with factory untouched BIOS update.

Run RWE after flash to be sure no slic is showing and the RSDT/XSDT tables have changed.

Okay, I don't know if I should start panicing now. I tried flashing original BIOS with HP Tool in Windows and got the same error message saying invalid Windows license. And then I did it in DOS with ASUS Awdflash v1.34 and SLIC is still present.

These versions of the flash utilities do not check for Slic in the BIOS

Did a flash of original BIOS in DOS with ASUS Awdflash v1.20. Checked SLIC Dump Toolkit and SLIC was still there. Then decided to try the original BIOS again in Windows using HP Tool. At first it exited with an error message saying chip on board is not Award BIOS. The second time around, it started to flashing but halted the computer at 87%. After that it's all history.
