hi guys, i modded my bios with your great support first everything worked fine and System says windows is activated but today an message poped up where the time and date shows that i only have 13 days left to test vista and that i should save all my files. Under control panel \ System it still says activated but why did i get this message? Im very confused now... how can i check if my vista is fully activated? Im afraid that it won't work anymore after the 13 days... thank you.
when i enter this command a message pops up which says your pc is activated. But why did i get this message saying i have only 13 days left?
ok i entered the following comand: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\ASUS.XRM-MS and got the message that the licence file ASUS.XRM-MS has been installed correctly. Last time i also got this message.. isnt it strange that everywhere my vista says its activated but sometimes these messages pop up that i only have X days left to activate vista.... why does that happen? How can i check if my vista is realy activated? I hope that it will not lock me out after these 13 days.
did you also enter the key? I've never seen this before, I hope for you're sake it doesn't get into reduced mode. But i'm a bit curious what gonna happen after the 13 days. Maby its some kind of bug in sp1, do you have a spare partition to try a fresh installation & sp1 .
no i dont have another partition and i dont want to change anything here cause everything is working so fine... this time i didnt enter the key when i typed slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\ASUS.XRM-MS but the first time i did enter this key. What was the correct command again to enter the key? Maybe the ASUS.XRM-MS is not the correct licence file for me? How can i check if this is correct or not? Im not 100% which SLIC is in my modded Bios. How can i check that? I have an Abit IP35 Pro Mainboard which was modded from someone from this forum.
You don't get activated with the wrong certificate. For the key you can use: slmgr.vbs -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx...
How many days since you installed? Same thing happened to me. http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/1758 I installed Enterprise instead. Activated now until 9/24.
today i got the warning message again saying that i have 9 days left... so i guess i installed vista 21 days ago. This is realy confusing me. Vista is everywhere showing activated but i keep getting this message. I dont want to be deactivated after these 9 days. How can i get sure this won't happen? Why doesnt the bios modd work for me?
hrm similar thing happened to me http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/1672 A few flashes later and everything went pear shaped when i had a bad flash and a dead motherboard.. i was unlucky enough to have a soldered EEPROM chip as well which i just assumed would have been removable since it was an ASUS P5N32-E SLI Ide recommend everyone who trys a few flashes looks to see if they do have a removable chip beforehand. quote from the A clue to why some cracks don't work post: "Kochis also detailed what happens when users upgrade to SP1 if they take no action after being told a crack has been found. People who used Grace Timer to scam the system will start seeing Vista's new dunning messages immediately, he said; those who relied on OEM BIOS will begin receiving the alerts about 15 days later." The 15 days is what you have, after that your probably going to see pop up msg's
Dont know about other people but i wasn't using deamon tools. I installed vista and then installed SP1.. only other softwares i used were norton and windows live messenger before i got the not activated
But why did that happen to me? I installed vista sp1 (Sp1 was already integrated in that release) then i modded my bios and activated it. Everything worked fine but after 15 days i got these popup messages. So does that mean my vista will realy not work after these remaining days? Or does that even meen my bios is damaged now? Can i remove the bios modd by flashing an original bios again? I think i will have no other chance than buying an original vista or what do you think?
Maby i can try a different modding method, but it is a quite sensitive bios. So there is a risk to brick it.
