Bios name length ??

    hello to all.my 1st post here.
    a very impressive array of info here.
    i have flashed bioses before so i am familiar with the routine etc.
    i am wanting to flash a rampage formula board with a 2.1 slic inserted.

    most bioses i have flashed have short names,but i am curious about the length of this name and is there a limitation on character length
    RAMPAGE-ASUS-FORMULA-0902.ROM

    has anyone here flashed this particular bios using the above string.

    Change it to 0902.rom....unless you use EZFlash2..then I think it doesnt matter.

    i intend to flash in dos,ezflash while it works for some has borked too many bioses.

    If you are going to use it in DOS, you'll likely see an autogenerated short name like RAMPAG~1.ROM anyway. Do "DIR" after booting to see.

    You can cut the name for use in DOS.
