I have a laptop (HP Pavilion dv7-2140eb Entertainment Notebook) but when I start krig I the following message cmos checksum error default value. How can I fix this. Thanks in advance for the help Regards Hans
No when I press start I get only the error message and then I can nothing more everything works now as the fan/hd/all lights. Only the symbol to indicate that the hd is working not fire Have the memory tested is also good the hd in another pc tested and that works too, but I think I need to put a new bios in it but how do I that? Hope someone can help me with this. Thanks for the effort. Regards Hans
Most laptops have a design to prevent bios tampering (keeps security on even when people steal the laptop). I have had some that have no kind of reset available. You may have to buy a chip flasher and flash it from the outside if it's even accessible.
