so I saw someone said they went with a BIOS SLIC mod instead of a windows 7 loader and it's better than the loaders. i've done some research on this SLIC mod thingy, but i don't think i quite understand what it is, can someone put it down into the simplest form so i understand? (has something to do with mimicking OEM or something right?) and i'm planning to buy a HP DV7-7015CA from staples in a few days, it's pre-installed with win7 home premium; i'm planning to upgrade it to win7 ultimate, can someone link me to a guide/tutorial for that model? since it seems that different bios has different ways of doing SLIC mod. ty, much appreciated.
slic 2.0 is vista marker. 2.1 is for 7. certificate matches slic= activated offline with generic OEM key. slic bios . install win7 . use OPATool or Daz Windows loader detects slic and only installs cert and key .. no bootloader. no need to slic dv7 as it has it already .. 2.1 no matter win 7 version
