Bios update available from Dell site, should I update?

    I am kinda a noob at Bios SLIC'n. I have had my Optiplex 755 running for the past year without any problems using the 2.1 SLIC A15 bios.

    Now come to find out there is an A17 bios available from Dell's website. I am wondering if I did update the bios, will it wipe out my SLIC and render Windows 7 Ultimate useless?

    Yes, unless you mod it (with Andy's Phoenix tool)

    But if you are OK A15, (check the changelog to see if there is anything you really need), then do not bother to update

    Yes I should update? or Yes it will modify the SLIC?

    If your system is running without problems do not update.

    Only update if the new Bios has something that you really need or solve a problem of your system.

    Just follow the rule: Never change a running system and you will be fine.
