Hi, I have Windows 8 RTM x64 on my laptop, but when I put windows into sleep mode or hibernation, it cannot resume; it shows only a black screen. What should I do? Thanks!
Hi, I have a HP NetBook with W8 Enterprise x86 and have same problem, specially after hibernation, a black screen and the only way to go out is to reboot. Fortunately boot is so quick that hibernation y not so useful as it was in former OS like XP or even W7. But it will be good that some one could review this bug! Thanks too!!!
I would suggest you simply disable it. Even if a system does resume from sleep/hibernation many times drivers, services or programs will fail. Especially so for many gamers.
Exactly, why would you put an unstable OS on hibernate when drivers are not out for it yet? OS is not out officially either
There is a blackscreen bug in win 8 itsself, as MS stated. If it is this bug in their cases, then it´s not driver related. Test the Fix from Microsoft. There´s nothing to lose, maybe something to win.... Regards
If you reboot the computer, when win8 comes up it will give you the computer locked icon, just as a normal hibernation, and when you click it all the applications that were open will be right there where you left off. At least that's what my Win8RTM x64 does... I suspect it's a power saving issue/feature.... T
Same problem. On my laptop, Removing the Nvidia drivers helped a bit. I now get a black screen once every 5 sleeps or hibernation process and no blue screen of death. It's a bit weird that this behaviour does not happen all the time. I tried to analyse the event viewer and it looks like a driver problem. I'm not good enough to know which one exactly.
